This week, we have spent a bunch of time in the water. Lizzie and Maggie have had swimming lessons all week, we enjoyed an afternoon of fun with our cousins, Eva and Tripp, at the water park, and we spent the Fourth of July holiday at DeSoto Pool in Hot Springs Village. Thankfully, we were able to find ways to beat the 100 + degree heat we've had all week!
Lizzie and Maggie are both strong swimmers. They have taken lessons for the previous two summers at Longhills, and they swim like little fish. People who watch them swim can not believe they are only five years old. We decided to do another year of swimming lessons, mainly so they could work on developing their stroke and strengthening their skills. It was a good decision. This week, they are learning how to DIVE, mastering the basic freestyle stroke, and swimming the elementary back stroke. They have both done awesome! We have been so fortunate to have Ms. Kristin as their instructor for all three years of their swimming lessons, and she is phenomenal with the girls.

Tuesday, my aunt Mary, invited us to go to the Arkadelphia water park with Eva and Tripp. Lizzie and Maggie ADORE their cousins Eva and Tripp (and Mary and Gary), so of course we said we would love to go! The kids had a blast!
Cousins having fun!
For the Fourth of July, we had plans to have a cookout with some friends and enjoy Tony and Scott's "professional" fireworks show. Those plans changed when all fireworks in our area were cancelled. We are in desperate need of rain and our county (along with most of Arkansas) is under a burn ban. The fire chief said, "No Fireworks", and it was the right call. So, we went to Hot Springs Village and enjoyed the DeSoto Pool while Tony golfed. We are members of Longhills Swimming Pool, and it is great...However, it's nice to visit a different pool every once in a while and have a change of scenery. They brought in a huge, inflatable water slide for the holiday, and a good time was had by all.
There goes Maggie!
Lizzie is ready to go.
They do get "airborne" for a brief moment.
She could do this all day long.
Happy Fourth of July!

Tony's Words Worth Repeating
One evening, I discovered that Lizzie's beta fish had "bit the dust".
Luckily, I noticed this before either of the girls. I went to Tony and
told him that Lizzie's fish was dead.
His response:
"Well, just catch her another one in Destin next week."
Maggie and Lizzie aren't the only ones with "blog worthy" quotes!
Isaiah 40:31, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
