Thanksgiving Feast

The kindergarten classes had their annual Thanksgiving feast on Friday.  The children made Native American clothing, headbands, jewelry, and feasted on snacks.  Parents were invited to attend and check out the fun.

Maggie's Words Worth Remembering

Me:  "Girls, tomorrow, we are going to take another
picture with all the twins from the Wright family."

Maggie, "Well, that means Lizzie can't do it because she's left."
(as in... Lizzie is left handed)

Skate Night

Caldwell Elementary had "Skate Night" for kindergarten, first, and second grades earlier this month.  Lizzie and Maggie have been able to skate for quite a while, but they had always worn the beginner skates that fit on over your shoes.  We have outgrown those, so it was time for REAL skates... and the challenge of learning to skate in those.  They both started off really slow, holding on to the rail, and falling alot!  By the end of the night, Maggie was quite proficient at skating around the rink, and Lizzie was not too far behind.  They had a great time skating and hanging out with some friends from school.

Halloween Week 2012

Halloween Week was lots of fun and really busy.  First, on Tuesday, October 30, we had a school-wide "50th Day of School Celebration".  Everyone dressed up in 50's clothes, and the students participated in all kinds of "50's Day" activities through out the day.  It was a huge success.

Poodle Skirts

Scarves

Even a "50's Housewife"

Then, on Wednesday, Halloween, Lizzie dressed up as the My Little Pony, Rainbow Dash.  Maggie was a Rose Princess.  Keeping with tradition, our friends, the Redmonds, came over to trick or treat with us.  Rainbow Dash and Rose Princess had lots of fun!

Cuties!

Being silly

The week ended on Saturday with our "End of Season Soccer Celebration" at Larry's Pizza.  I left my camera at home, and I was only able to get one picture with my phone...but it sure is sweet...

Lizzie's Words Worth Repeating
(On the way home from school on 50's Day...)
Lizzie:  "Mom, have you ever heard of a guy named Elvis Presley?"
Me:  "Oh, yes I have...and do you know who REALLY likes Elvis Presley?  Meems!"
Lizzie:  "Well, all the girls in my class...even me...think he is sooooo CUTE.  I mean...he can ROCK IT!"
(Further discussion revealed that the children listened to some Elvis music and watched some old video clips on the Smartboard...even danced to some Elvis songs on 50's Day.   We found an XM radio station called "Elvis Presley Music" and the girls think it is the best!)
